One Room Challenge Tween Queen Bedroom and Bath {The Sources}

Posted on

Thank you for all the kind comments y’all left on the reveal of my One Room Challenge Tween Queen Bedroom and Bath. It was so nice to hear from each and every one of you! My daughter is loving her new space and I’m starting to get myself out from all the boxes and things that have been piling up around here. I haven’t gotten enough time to go through all of the 20 designers and over 200 guest participants who took part in this round of the One Room Challenge. But I am going to get to it asap and put together a list of my favorites. I’ve seen quite a few pictures of rooms on Instagram and there are some real beauties out there!! I promised last week in my reveal that I would be back with a separate post on all the sources of items that I used in …

One Room Challenge Tween Queen Bedroom & Bath {THE REVEAL!!}

Posted on

  Deep breath, deep breath…here we go! Six weeks ago 20 designers and over 200 guest participants took the plunge into the Spring 2017 One Room Challenge. The challenge being- redesign a room in 6 weeks. No problem you say? Well, it’s never without drama and setbacks but I think in the end each person who joins the challenge is thrilled to cross off one room in their house as being done. And all of these beautiful rooms wouldn’t be possible without the organization and support of Linda at Calling It Home. Seriously Linda- where would we all be if you hadn’t started this little challenge of yours??? With a lot of half-finished rooms is where we would be. Ok, here’s the quick background on the rooms I did this round. My daughter turns 9 and decides that she hates pink and wants it out of her bedroom. At the …

One Room Challenge Tween Queen Bedroom and Bath {Week 5}

Posted on

Week 5 of the One Room Challenge is here (insert all the comments about how is it Week 5 already?!?!). So it’s crunch time to get all the last items finished in the participating rooms. And when you start crunching the numbers- there isn’t even a full week left to finish. Because most people will have their rooms photographed by a photographer, which means that you need the room done a few days ahead of the reveal. My room is set to be photographed on Monday. Just a few hours after my shower door and roman shades get installed! Keep all of your fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with either installation and this room reveal goes off without any hiccups. And just so we are all ready for the reveal next week, let’s take a quick look back on where we started 5 weeks ago. Weeks 1, 2, 3, and …

One Room Challenge Tween Queen Bedroom and Bath {Week 3}

Posted on

For all of you rolling out of bed right now, let me tell you it’s Wednesday. Which means it’s time to check in on the One Room Challenge! And this week is Week 3, which I’ll do the math for you is the half-way point of the 6 week challenge!!! And whew, those three weeks have flown by!!! But there has been so much progress in my daughter’s bedroom and bathroom that unless a total catastrophe happens I should be able to complete the room ahead of schedule. So if anyone is doing the One Room Challenge and needs help (and lives in a warm, tropical location) you can fly me in and I’ll come paint walls or sew pillows for you. But that’s about where my handy skills end. Ok, let’s talk about some of the fabulous items that have arrived on my doorstep the past couple of weeks. …

The other tween’s room gets a refresh

Posted on

Have you been following along with Erin’s One Room Challenge and the tween queen bedroom she’s creating for her daughter? I’ve been promising the tween girl in my house for months now (ok, probably more like over a year) that I’d give her bedroom a refresh too. The inability though to find one clear inch of carpet that isn’t totally covered with dirty clothes, stuffed animals or candy wrappers (there is a “no food in the bedroom rule” that is liberally disregarded by my children) left me totally uninspired about taking on her room. This is what Alice’s room looked like two years ago, the last time I gave her space a facelift. Definitely sweet but… in the intervening two years she’s destroyed the duvet, chipped up the bed and every couple of months she has the carpet looking like it’s never ever been cleaned. Even though it had only been a …
