2016 Holiday Home Tour Part II

Posted on

Today we’re back to share some more of our holiday home tours with you as part of the Pink Door Holiday Tour. Big thanks to Annie of All Things Big and Small for organizing us! If you missed on Wednesday, we shared our living rooms and breakfast nooks as part of the 12 days of Christmas tours. And today we’ve got more holiday decor goodness to share! Erin’s House: I always love when people decorate their staircases for Christmas. This year I kept it super simple and easy for our stairwell. I picked up some real garland from Costco and draped it along the railings. I added a few black and white bows at the posts and middle swag and called it good. Last year Target had these paper stars as part of their holiday collection. I always struggle with where to put them so this year I threw them …

12 Days of Holiday Homes {2016}

Posted on

Erin and I are so excited to be teaming up with an amazing group of bloggers to bring you 12 days of holiday homes. Thanks so much Lynch Creek Farms for providing gorgeous wreaths for the tour and to 11 Magnolia Lane & Evolution of Style for getting us organized! If you’re popping over from Southern State of Mind – welcome to our Christmas homes! Christmas Tour – Part One Tricia’s House Remember that show “The Year Without a Santa Claus?” It looked like that was going to be our house this year – the no Christmas house tour year. With out of town guests for a week, a weekend away, a non-Christmas house-wide photo shoot last week and then another weekend away it wasn’t looking good. Then I remembered – “Oh yeah, sleep is optional!” I stayed up until 3 the other morning and got up at six to get …

Changing up the exterior with paint and a wood garage door

Posted on

Goodness, this whole writing a post and sharing a before and after project is starting to feel foreign to me! I could give you all the reasons for my lack of posting but when it comes right down to it, I’ve been busy. Busy with taking new clients and building up Everyday Interior Design, busy raising three kids, busy trying to get myself into amazing shape before I turn 40, and just busy with life. Also- I haven’t had a ton of new projects in my own house to share. Things have slowed down in the house as we have made over almost every room in our house now. And you know what that means- time to move! Which isn’t a complete joke. We are currently in escrow on a lot that we plan to build a custom home on. But the current plans won’t have us building for a …

Big News in the House Fall 2016 ORC

Posted on

Yep, there’s big news in the house! About a month ago Erin texted me as I was rushing out the door for the school run to ask if I saw “the” email. Forget making it to school on time -that one little email that was about to totally change my fall. By the second line of the email I was screaming out loud and completely freaking my kids out (they thought I’d hurt myself again;they know what a complete & utter klutz their mother). No, Erin and I weren’t notified that we’d won the lottery. No we weren’t just invited to meet the queen or go to a movie premier. And no we didn’t inherit a million dollars from a long-lost super rich newly deceased uncle. All the same what was in that email was as exciting as any of those other could be! So what was in the subject line? Only the three most beautiful words …
