Chairish Vintage Dining Room

Posted on

Yesterday Erin showed you her fantasy friend’s living room. Honestly, she doesn’t go around talking to imaginary people but you know sometimes you just need to design a room for that perfect made up someone. When Chairish contacts you and asks you to create a room based on one of their gorgeous vintage rugs what better excuse could there be for making up a friend with a great sense of style and then designing a vintage eclectic living room for that friend? Today’s my turn to create a room around a Chairish rug. I’m too selfish to share my imaged Chairish room with a fantasy friend. I desperately want a dining room redo so I found a rug from the Chairish collection that I love and gave myself a new dining room with lots of fabulous Chairish vintage furniture instead! I chose this beautiful handmade wool Overdyed Grass Green Abrash Turkish rug for the start to …

One project, two takes {Holiday Pillows}

Posted on

What would the point be of all that Christmas decorating if you didn’t have some great pillows to finish it all off? Erin made her couch super festive with these plaid pom-pom pillows. And I gave my navy love seat a little holiday flair with these houndstooth deer bust pillows. {Tricia’s holiday pillows} Although I kept my Christmas decorating to a minimum this year I still wanted some seasonal pillows to go with my color scheme of green, gold, yellow and white (you can get a tour of my quick decorations and Erin’s much more elaborate and beautiful ones here). I quickly whipped up a couple pillows in a green houndstooth. You could easily pick up pre-made pillows in your colors from Target or Home Goods for this project. The only other supplies you’ll need are a piece of flannel measuring 10″ x 12″, fabric glue, fabric stiffener and an image. …

My make-up bag essentials {Erin}

Posted on

Holy cow guys- y’all loved Monday’s post! Who knew that putting up pictures of Tricia’s face with Scotch tape all over it would be such a hit?! But should we really be surprised? I know that I am far from alone when I say that aging and wrinkles are big concerns of mine. Of course they are never big concerns when you’re say 18, so therefore you go out in the sun sans sunscreen and wash your face maybe 2x a week- setting yourself up for damage that can’t be erased. Remember when I showed you the results of a IPL facial that I had done to remove dark brown spots from my face? I can say that I am still really happy with the results from that facial. The dark brown spots definitely were reduced and I’ve even had people compliment me on my skin, which never ever happened …

My make-up bag essentials {Tricia}

Posted on

Ok, this is one of those times that I really can’t believe what I’m going to share with you. It’s the kind of thing where you’re going to ask yourself “What??? Is she high?” I do live in Colorado after all. But no, stone cold somber. I’m just crazy that way. This week Erin and I are sharing with you the contents of our make-up bags. Today it’s the things I can’t live without. You know, my desert island array.  Most days I don’t indulge in a ton of make up. Not because I don’t need it, it’s just when you’re running around in your gym clothes all day make-up doesn’t really go with the motif. I should take the time to do more but I don’t so instead of telling you about all the make-up I cart around in my make-up bag and rarely wear I’m going to share …

One Project, Two Takes {The Lady Chair}

Posted on

Just a reminder, the Suburban Bitches along with Everitt and Schilling are hosting our first design workshop together! Inspired by a workshop that I attended at West Elm, these events will have participants show pictures of their rooms and ideas will be given by a panel of design experts on how to change up the room and bring it to a whole new level. This month the focus will be on 5 easy ways to make a small bathroom shine. Aaron Everitt, an extraordinary builder and designer will speak on trends he’s seeing in small bathrooms followed by discussions of each participant’s bathroom. If you’ve got a bathroom that could use a small facelift, then join us and I promise that you’ll walk away with some great ideas for your space! Read more about the event here or RSVP over on the Facebook page. It’s been a while since we’ve …
