10 artists I totally want to hang (on my wall)

Posted on

Today I’m here to share with you 10 artists who’s work I like. More than like, I love enough that I either have some of their work in my house or want to have their work in my house. My house unfortunately doesn’t have a lot of wall space for art, so if I’m going to put up some art I for sure want it to speak to me and not be a piece picked up from a chain store. Let me also preface this post by saying that I know close to nothing about art. I can’t speak about the composition, or the brushstrokes, or any of the other things that people educated in art can speak of. I just know that certain pieces, and certain artists- their work just speaks to me and makes me want to hang it in my house. So I won’t give any reasons of …

Ten for Thursday {Erin’s Christmas Wish List}

Posted on

The great thing about having a blog is that you can put together a handy guide for all the gifts you would love to open on Christmas morning. This makes it much easier on the husbands in our lives- preventing them from making bad choices such as buying us a drill for Christmas. Yes, my husband thought that since I bitched so much about the lack of power in my drill that buying me a new, more powerful one would be a great Christmas gift. I say maybe instead I just buy myself a new, more powerful husband who does all these DIY projects for me! So dear husband of mine, if you are reading this, as you should be, any of the following items on this list would not be chucked at our head if I open them on Christmas morning. The drill however- don’t even think about saving …

Ten for Thursday {ORC rooms}

Posted on

Its been a whole week since the One Room Challenge has ended and during that time I have taken full advantage of my new laundry room. I’ve done loads of laundry, even going so far as washing everyone’s sheets! Crazy what liking your laundry room will do to a person! It has also taken me almost a week to go through and look at all the amazing rooms that were transformed during this 6 week period. Today I wanted to share 10 rooms that were my favorite transformations from this round of the One Room Challenge. 1. The Design Daredevil  You guys really have to go check this one out. The before pictures of the bedroom will make you swear that this room CANNOT be the same space. Too many good details to list but that light fixture and those black walls- gah!!!!! 2. The Design Manifest A kitchen makeover …

Thursday Ten {houseplants}

Do you guys ever feel like the air in your house needs to be purified? Given that I have three kids and one who still likes to poop in anything but a toilet, I’m always feeling that fresh air is needed in my house. Houseplants are a great way to infuse fresh oxygen into your house, but let’s be real, I’ve never even considered this benefit of a plant when filling my house up with leafy green things. I just like plants for bringing natural texture to a room and filling up pretty vases to sit on things. Taller plants are also a great way to bring height to a room and break up the lines of a space. I don’t claim to have a green thumb and keeping plants alive is certainly a trial and error process for me. I’ve found that watering once a week is the right …
