Instead of spending my day doing something useful like working on a project for the blog I’ve had the joy of instead heading to all the wireless phone stores to shop their myriad calling plans. This was not how I planned my day but when you drop your phone just so causing the case to crack, the screen to shatter and the phone to split apart getting a new phone takes precedence over all else. Besides dealing with the nuisance of a phone that doesn’t work I’m also forced to recognize the depth of my instagram addiction. I feel a cold sweat and a bad case of the DT’s coming on. And are you wondering what came of all my phone research? Those ads certain companies air about buying out your old plan – not really happening unless you have 2 months or less to go. So, in the end I’m using the insurance plan to just get a replacement iPhone 5. Mr. Man was convinced the phone dropping incidence was really a rouse to get the iPhone 6. I guess my next slip is going to have to wait until I’m eligible for an upgrade.
Since I don’t have any meaningful home improvement to share how about I tell you all about the cool things I found while wasting time on the internet this week?
Our ‘Mommy’ Problem Love this editorial in Sunday’s New York Times. It makes me nostalgic for 1970’s chain smoking parenting.
West Elm scoop table lamp I had to scoop this one up for my daughter’s room. I swear one day I really will show you the whole room kit and caboodle once the rug I order 6 weeks ago that was accidentally sent to the wrong person actually gets here. It’s supposed to be the end of the month.
The Design Sponge Quarterly Box – I used to have a monthly subscription based scrapbook company (if you’re into scrapbooking check out Cocoa Daisy the new owner Christine puts together amazing kits!). Ever since starting that company I’ve had an addiction to little surprises coming in the mail. Have you heard of Quarterly? I hadn’t until today. They’ll send out a single box or a ongoing subscription of packages with fun stuff curated by interesting people like Nina Garcia, Pharrell Williams or even Bill Nye the Science Guy (this one might be good for the kids!). In my case I’m giving the Design Sponge Box a go. The next box includes goods from Rifle Paper Company (can we say obsession?) and AHeirloom. I’m so excited to see what comes! And don’t worry I’ll post a review after it comes.
I’m in love with everything about this dining room.
What are your thoughts on this trunk chest? I’m contemplating it for the littlest dude’s room as a nightstand.
Or maybe I just need to find the low version of this sweet number instead.
As for needs, I myself need this little gnome – perhaps the cutest bottle opener ever.
And just in case you’re to be the hostess with the mostest this Thanksgiving, I’ll leave you with this oh so perfect tablescape.
