One Room Challenge Favorites {Fall 2016}

Was the One Room Challenge reveal really already two weeks ago? The whole month so far has been a whirlwind between trying to madly finish up our space, the election and a quick trip a couple days later to Atlanta to celebrate my baby brother’s big birthday. And of course there’s also the clean up from the One Room Challenge that I had to contend with too. I’m not gonna lie – while part of the house looked amazing for the reveal the rest of the house was not looking good. This is what greeted you when you walked in the front door for several weeks.

Not impressed yet? How about this?

I’m slowly finding homes for everything and at the same time clearing all this out has inspired me to clear EVERYTHING out of everywhere so there’s hardly a spot in the house that doesn’t look like the aftermath of a natural disaster. And oh yeah, the mother-in-law comes today. I’m sure I’ll somehow manage to clean this all up in a mad dash scrabble sort of way.

In the spirit of procrastination which I seem to live for, I thought I’d return to something that brings me much more pleasure that clearing out my house’s detritus and instead sharing some of the amazing inspiration from this round of the One Room Challenge. Between the invited bloggers and the guest participants there were so many incredible spaces that have me staring at the photos over and over again in an attempt to digest all that gorgeousness. Congratulations and thanks once again to Linda of Calling It Home for creating this challenge for all of us to love. Kudos to everyone who took part – redoing a room in just six weeks isn’t for sissies!

Overwhemingly this round I’ve found myself drawn to spaces that are predominantly white. In the past I’ve loved the moody and the colorful but right now I’m feeling very influenced by my love of white paint. With that said let me introduce you to my favorite white rooms of the fall Challenge.

Before I dive in I’ve got good news – atgstores.com has another amazing coupon! Use GIFT100 for $100 off an order of $249 or more. The coupon expires 1/31/2017.

Erin Spain’s Coffee Bar

There’s no particular order to my favorites but is there anyway to start the day off except with a whole lot of coffee? After seeing Erin’s coffee bar I’m desperately wishing I had a little lost closet I could invite Erin over and bribe her with a lot of coffee (except can you believe she’s not a coffee drinker????) to create my own private coffee sanctuary in there. A girl can dream, right?

Ciburbanity’s She-Shed

Our lot is the size of a postage stamp. There’s barely enough room for a toddler to throw a ball it’s so small. Usually I’m just perfectly fine with that because I am a dedicated yard work hater. With our last house my secret dream was to build a little office out in our woods where I could escape the kids and the housework & have secret wine meetings with my girls. I still have that dream but that shed would now have to be the size of an outhouse which would definitely make it a little less fun for the gang to congregate in. Instead I’m just going to have extreme she-shed envy over Charlotte’s amazing backyard getaway. And the swing. Did she really have to add my other secret dream to her escape room? I’m now suffering extreme jealousy.

Polished Habitat’s Office

While we’re on the subject of dream work spaces what about this gorgeous feminine space designed by Melissa of Polished Habitat? Mr. Man reluctantly let hot pink drapes into the bedroom with last spring’s round of the One Room Challenge but I don’t think he’d willing let me bring pink into the office. And I definitely don’t think he’ll be exiting stage left from the office space anytime soon. Maybe that’s why the office has just random pieces of furniture and is utterly neglected because I’ve got no skin in that game. If he every did let me have my way in there I’d be looking to Melissa’s office for inspiration!

Ashley Bell Interiors

And after seeing this office transformation maybe I’m just going to kick him out anyway and go for an office makeover. This space is just too gorgeous!

This Little Estate

The laundry room was my first attempt at the Challenge. After seeing the magic Bethany created in her laundry room/mudroom I think I might need to take on that space again. I just can’t get over that ceiling! Plus check out all the full length mirrors she put in the room – sheer brilliance I tell you! The only full length mirror in our house got kicked to the curbside in my last Challenge so if you ever see me a little shady let’s blame it on the deficient mirror situation. Maybe a space like this is how I should remedy that. I love every little thing about this room.

Bigger Than the Three of Us’ Dining Room

Ashley is another blogger Erin and I discovered through the Challenge. When she said she was taking on her dining room for this round I couldn’t even imagine what could possibly need to be changed in there.  But once again she absolutely nailed it. I’m still working hard to decide what’s my favorite thing about the new dining room – the lighting or the wallpaper. What about you?

Remington Avenue’s Master Bath

I bow down to anyone taking on a master bath for the One Room Challenge. Coordinating everything that would going into that in just six weeks would be absolutely daunting yet so many did take it on and created beautifully serene spaces like this by Mysha of Remington Avenue. What a transformation!

What about Leslie’s bathroom remodel? I’m dreaming of how good a soak in that tub would be. Sigh…

702 Parker Project

I love when designers tackle areas that are often off the radar for their One Room Challenges – like staircases. I first “met” Sarah a few years ago through the Challenge and I’ve been following along with her transformation of their 110 year old house ever since. You’ve got to go check out her blog to see how much love and sweat they’ve put into their home. I can’t even believe the change in this hallway and staircase!

The Curated House

I am in love with every project Sarah takes on. Her style is absolutely impeccable. I’ve loved every space Sarah has transformed for the One Room Challenge but her basement project just might be my favorite. Everything about this space is so spot on.

Driven by Decor’s Family Room

This is about one of the most unbelievably inviting spaces I’ve ever seen. Don’t you just feel like if you suddenly popped by Kris would say “Come on in, plop yourself down on my cozy sectional for wine and a movie!” I love a room that looks like an open invitation to one and all. Plus how can you not love a room with that chandelier? It’s just too good!

There are just so many rooms that caught my eye this round but I’m going to leave you with these as my One Room Challenge Favorites as I really do need to get something done before my mother-in-law arrives. How about you? I’d love to hear about which rooms where your favorite from this round!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Here’s to a beautiful day spent with family and friends! Cheers!
